Default Is this a good idea?(I think it is!)

I just had this idea...

I could make an elementalist/warrior and get energy storage to 16, then put all over attribute points into hammer mastery, which would be good cos i got the game of the year edition so if i type /bonus i get a great hammer.

The good thing with this is that warriors have the lowerst energy in the game, so the very high level of the elementalists energy would be great!

Sorry, this was rushed a lot.

Noo...bad idea....really bad....

Eles don't have armor ratings like warriors.
Hammer bars don't rely on energy, more on adrenaline.

Do you know why warriors have the "lowerst" energy in the game? Because they don't need it to rape face. Adrenaline is your friend.

Basically you want to make a 60 AL target with -75 Health (thanks to Superior Energy Storage rune) into an upfront melee character. This is not remotely great.

If anything, an E/W using a hammer would want to max Earth, not Energy Storage. That way you could use skills to boost your armor to stay alive while in melee, as well as do some damage using the knockdown ability of hammers. But any way you slice it, the idea is bad. If you want to use a hammer, use a Warrior or Ranger. Casters won't do well with a hammer.

An E/W melee attacking isn't a good idea really. Warriors have low energy because they don't use energy as much with their warrior builds. They tend to use adrenaline. If you have problems with energy on your warrior you can use Zealous weapon attachments or inscriptions that give you more energy (Usually +5). Certain runes and insignias can give more energy too.

On a similar topic.... this reminds me of my friend when he first started.
"I made a sweet build! I'm a W/N, with hammer skills, and Animate Flesh Golem! That way, in Random Arenas, I can kill enemies with my hammer, then make a Flesh Golem out of them!"
Yes... he actually did say that.

Warriors basically take 29% less armour dependant damage than casters (50% less for physical damage). This is largely how a Warrior can survive easily on the front lines. The fact that Elementalists take full damage from everything, is the reason why they succumb quickly on the front line.

Your suggested setup uses a Superior Rune, which on a frontliner is a terrible idea. The reason being, 75 less maximum health is going to hurt when your face is full of ugly monster.
To make this worse, the superior rune is for Energy Storage which is in fact, a waste. As you seem to want to use hammer attacks (hammer mastery), you don't need much energy. Energy Storage has next to no useful skills for this purpose.
Also, the passive bonus from Energy Storage is not very useful either (you don't require much energy remember), which means running an Elementalist primary is both pointless and, taking into account the first paragraph, stupid.

I take it you've never played an E/Mo Ether Renewal Spambot? They can keep entire parties Prot'ed and healed.

Oh my god. I'm sorry, but this is such a bad idea. If you have noticed, many warriors go head to head with other warriors... unless you throw up a ward or something (which would break putting all points into hammer mastery), you wn't stand that much of a chance. Then comes the fact that KD will likely happen and that prevents skill activation so where is all your energy then?

With significant self heals and no energy probs unless you end up with enchantment removal

I know a good Hammer build for a Ele/Warrior, actually is fun to play. But you don't need Energy Storage at 16, the one you need is Earth Magic, so you knockdown and cast Aftershock; and because you are inside the action, you can use: Sliver Armor, Armor of Earth, and Wards.

I think this build will earn your el a darwin award because it is one of the worst ideas ever. Suggesting that you take a low AL class, lower its hp by 75, and make it frontline means you are either a troll or you really need to read up on how the game works.

If you want to knock stuff down, bring gale or play an earth build.

Being more productive, while elementalist frontliners can work, they tend to either rely on Earth Magic enchantments to reinforce their defenses or on killing the enemy so fast it doesn't matter with PBAOEs (and I personally have doubts as to the viability of the latter. I've met people who swear by it, but, well, they also seemed to die by it...)

Warriors, on the other hand, have no need for THAT much energy. Heck, Elementalists usually don't need that much energy.

There must be SOME benefit to high energy for a warrior! THINK! I can't think of one...

I've changed my mind! Instead of using the sudering rhino's charge hammer, i will use me zealous adaminite falchion blade of warding my nightfall warrior is currently using, combined with Tiger's Roar that I got from the GotY edition.

We have been playing the game for 4 years and up. There is no stupider thing to do than putting 12 points into Energy Storage, then dumping a Superior rune into an ES headgear, equipping a melee weapon and trying to kill something.

60AL + melee + superior rune = death in few seconds. Especially in Hard Mode.

You are trolling now, right?
